Keane WILL miss first leg of Semi

He will NOT play in tomorrow's Semi Final first leg v Bayer Leverkusen, but is ahead of schedule and could feature next week in the second leg.

Captain Roy Keane trained yesterday, 22 April and this morning, 23rd, but he won't play tomorrow. Despite most sources claiming Keane would be on the bench tomorrow night, it has just been confirmed that Keane is ahead of schedule for a return, but would be rested until the second leg of the Semi. This was verified this evening when Fergie said: "'He trained yesterday and he's trained this morning, but he won't play tomorrow." "Hopefully maybe next Tuesday he will be ready. I've been very surprised at his progress - he's remarkable."

This will cause mixed emotions to Mick McCarthy, as he is in constant communications with the Old Trafford medical staff. Roys well-being is of the upmost importance to the Irish Boss, and he will be kept updated as to Keanes rehabilitation.

Elsewhere on the injury front, Mark Kennedy is fit to play. Kennedy has yet to do a serious work-out to test his injured groin. That may come sooner rather than later, as the Baggies beat Wolves to the second automatic promotion place to the Premier League. Wolves now go into the play-offs to face Norwich. Should Wolves be sucessful in beating Norwich, then its off to Cardiff for the Final. We would afterall be welcoming two more of our Irish boys, Paul Butler and Mark Kennedy back to the premier league. And as mentioned in earlier news, our Richard Dunne of Man City is back with us already.

And tonight in the Premiership Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United took a point each at Ewood. The Magpies needed something from tonights game as much as Blackburn. Newcastle were desperate for the three points for the guarantee of champions league football next season, although the point will now do it. And while the point for Blackburn has almost assured Blackburn a season of Premiership football next season, Souness will be furious that his team did not take all three points. After Gillespie put the home side in front, Newcastle could have been 2-0 down at the break but for a superb Given save in denying Republic of Ireland team-mate Damien Duff. Shearer got the other 2 for the Mags, making his goal tally 202 to date in the Premiership.

Fulham beat Bolton by 3-0 tonight also. Surely this will guarantee Fulham premiership status from today.

In the first leg of the other Champions League semi,Barcelona failed to get a result as Real Madrid won on the night by 0-2, with goals from Zidane and McManaman
